Planar Magnetic Drivers
Planar magnetic drivers combine characteristics of several driver types. They employ magnetic fields akin to dynamic and balanced armature drivers. However, planar magnetic drivers, like electrostatic drivers, use a flat, thin diaphragm in contrast to a coil. The planar drivers are known for their quick transient response.
Closed-Back Design
Headphones with a Closed-Back design are completely sealed around the ear cup, allowing the sound to travel directly into your ears. This means that closed-back headphones block out outside noise, giving much better isolation, and minimising sound leakage to those around you.
Needs Amplification
Headphones and IEMs require a certain level of power to sound their best and work at their full potential. When your headphones or IEMs are underpowered, they can sound thin or muffled.

Actually, I have been owning a Meze Liric-1 (not the Liric-2) for a few years now. It has so many great qualities, but at times, I have always felt that something is missing. And then came DCA-E3. Several reviewers crowned it the closed-back king. So went for it impulsively and it is an amazing headphone for sure. There is something special about it, which connects you with music. It is holographic, precise, sweet mids and highs. Bass is quite superior, quality over quantity. Stellar wearing comfort. I think it is going to be my endgame closed back, hopefully...
